AGAINST LARCH WOOD
(from America)

The conventional wisdom concerning the wood found in Greenland is that it was "drift wood from Siberia"

Comment: A puzzle is how the conventional wisdom ever passed the Occam's Razor test, (the simplest answer is best), in the first place. The "drift wood from Siberia" has to float five times further than drift wood from America. The flow and wind patterns enable wood from America to flow to Greenland with less dispersion than wood from Siberia. Why the conventional wisdom persists is another mystery.

Furthermore the Nose people, eating about 80% of their diet from seafood were not likely to stand on shore passively waiting for driftwood to float by. Wood in America was, at most, only a two week round trip away. The simplest solution is: The Greenland people sailed for it
