OBJECTS OF EVIDENCE

In longhouse 11-B, among the foreign objects, the following were found:

  • (1) A sleeve of a composite tool where metal was inserted at other times.
  • (2) A small wood figurine (Smaller than a thumb).
  • (3) Two sets of glass beads (50 total) in six colors.
The beads could not be dated.
  • (4) An arrow designed to hold a metal arrowhead.
The condition of the arrow did not permit keeping the object as found.
  • (5) A piece of copper. The copper is thought to have been made in 1000-1100 in Europe. The Eskimos may have secured it from the Norse in Greenland.
