There is also a fringe movement among linguists who are interested in showing that there is a single language from which all languages are descended, and there is a slightly more acceptable version which says we can prove there are two such languages. Neither of these groups of linguists considers that anything Indo-European is related to anything in the Western hemisphere in any time frame shorter that 20-30,000 years.
